Top five leadership podcasts for your vacation

    August 12, 2017

Let’s face it: as a manager, even if you’re on a beach thousands of miles from the office, your job is never far from your thoughts. So why not absorb some leadership advice while you’re soaking up the sun (protected with adequate sun screen, of course)?

Here are our top five leadership podcasts for your summer vacation listening and learning pleasure:

1.Off the Charts Business Podcast. Nathalie Lussier built her first website at the age of 12—and never looked back. She was offered a job on Wall Street job right out of college… and turned it down! Instead, she started her own software company. Nowadays, top business publications like Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., Success Magazine, Mashable, and Entrepreneur can’t get enough of her, and neither can we! Her Off the Charts Business Podcast enjoys top ratings, and it’s easy to see why: her intuitive approach to business and entrepreneurship appeals to managers and leaders of all generations. Plus, she provides comprehensive descriptions of every episode on her website, so you can pick and choose the topics that interest you.

2.The Tim Ferris Show. This top-ranked business podcast was voted iTunes’ “Best of” in both 2014 and 2015, and rightly so. Every episode, author, blogger, and business thought leader Tim Ferris “deconstructs”—as he puts it—top performers from a range of areas including business, finance, sports, and the arts. In the process, he highlights the strategies, tools, habits and routines these successful people use so listeners can learn from them. If you’re looking for an objective, intelligent podcast that brings you information you can apply, this is the one you’ve got to listen to.

3.Coaching for Leaders. Let’s face it: if you’ve been following any kind of leadership news over the past years, then you’ve heard of Dave Stachowiak. The VP of Talent Development at Dale Carnegie of Southern Los Angeles and founder of Coaching for Leaders has been featured in numerous publications and was named one of Forbes’ “25 Professional Networking Experts to Watch in 2015.” Well, fortunately, you can also listen to him, because in his weekly podcast Coaching for Leaders, Stachowiak tackles topics ranging from communication and social media to financial intelligence and building leadership confidence. What’s more, you can also submit questions for the monthly Q&A episode!

4.The EntreLeadership Podcast. Have you always wanted to know the secrets of today’s business leaders like Seth Godin, Mark Cuban, and Simon Sinek—but you don’t have time to read all of their books? Then Ken Coleman’s podcast is definitely a must-listen for you! With an impressive guest list and a wide variety of topics such as leading the next generation, the value of building trust, and dealing with change, he brings you interesting discussions peppered with insightful tips from the superstars of business.

5.The Broad Experience. Okay, so the title and tagline (a conversation about women, the workplace, and success) might lead you to believe this podcast is only for the ladies among us, but in all honesty, men can benefit from listening in, too. Host Ashley Milne-Tyte started the show to examine why women often don’t reach their full potential. However, her perceptive, honest reporting provides both men and women with actionable insights on how to improve their workplaces and careers.

Of course, there are many more quality, informative podcasts out there that can bring you fresh insights and career inspiration. But with these five, a quiet beach, and a cool drink, you’ll definitely lead your vacation off to a great start!
