Five points and under:
You really need to reassess what you’re wearing and try to find an outfit that’s more suited to the company and the role. If you don’t know where to begin, call the company and ask the receptionist what the dress code is. Make sure that your shoes match your outfit — and if the dress code is business casual, remember that casual doesn’t mean sneakers!
Six to 10 points:
You’re on the right track, but there’s still room for improvement. Take a good look in the mirror, and look for ways to improve your outfit. Perhaps you’re wearing a nice shirt but it needs to be ironed in order for you to look perfectly polished, or maybe you’re wearing shoes that pinch. Just keep trying: You’re almost there!
11 to 15 points:
Congratulations — your outfit is representative of your professional persona! Now all you need to do is make sure your accessories complement your overall look. Then you can walk into the interview room with the confidence that you look as professional as you feel.
Remember: On average, it takes less than 10 seconds for people to form an opinion about you based on a first impression. So take your score to heart and use it as guidance, because if your outfit matches the company culture and the role, you enhance your chances of receiving an offer of employment.
