Senior Vice President, Education Practice
Nicola (Nikki) Soares is senior vice president of the Education Practice for Kelly Services, a global provider of workforce solutions. In her position, Nikki is responsible for managing operations and driving strategic growth for Kelly’s education staffing portfolio focused on K-12 which includes Kelly Education, the largest provider of education staffing solutions to school districts in the United States, and Teachers On Call, a Kelly Services company with operations in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
As a former teacher, Nikki understands first-hand the education challenges that exist today and is keenly aware of the demands that many educators face including the growing teacher shortage. As an advocate for student achievement and instructional continuity in the classroom, she firmly believes in the mission of Kelly Services to serve as a valued partner with schools across the country.
Nikki is actively engaged with the Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling (MACAC), and is an advocate of school counselors receiving continuous professional development on the growing talent gap that exists in day’s current workplace. As part of her advocacy, Nikki has addressed the Michigan Legislature to create awareness and garner the support of education policy makers in this endeavor, knowing it’s vital that students are fully aware of all post-secondary education choices, including community college and professional skill trade career options.
With more than 20 years of experience in the education industry, Nikki joined Kelly Services in 2010 from NBC Universal where she led marketing and sales for the NBC News education initiative, NBC Learn. Nikki also held positions with McGraw-Hill Education and began her education career as a social studies teacher in Virginia.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Science with a minor in Secondary Education from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. Nikki serves as executive chair for Kelly’s largest internal employee resource group, Leadership in Action (LIA). The group is dedicated to helping prepare and develop current and future leaders in the global marketplace. A passionate supporter of student preparedness for the future world of work, Nikki has spoken at industry conferences and events on this topic. Staffing Industry Analysts recognized Nikki as one of the most influential people in the staffing industry, naming her to its 2018 Staffing 100 list and to the Global Power 150 – Women in Staffing list in both 2018 and 2019.
