Senior Vice President and General Manager, U.S. Operations
As senior vice president and general manager of U.S. Operations for Kelly Services, Debra (Deb) Thorpe oversees Kelly's staffing operations in the United States with responsibility for the company's commercial, professional and technical business across the country. Kelly's U.S. staffing business has served as the foundation on which the company has built long-standing relationships with customers, employees, suppliers and the local communities.
Named to her current position in 2018, Deb brings deep and broad experiences leading global staffing and workforce solutions teams for Kelly Services. Previously, she served as senior vice president of Operations, GTS Talent Fulfillment, responsible for the operations of Kelly’s GTS staffing, CWO, RPO, and PPO practices for the Americas and EMEA. In this role, she directed GTS Recruiting in addition to a team of Integrated Operations leaders delivering services to many of Kelly’s largest clients.
Deb also served in other critical executive positions at Kelly, including head of Global Services, vice president of the Southwest Sector operations region and vice president of the IT Resources team. She joined Kelly Services in 2007 from Bartech Technical Services. Deb began her career as an engineer with General Motors.
In 2018, Deb was named to Staffing Industry Analysts' 2018 Global Power 150 – Women in Staffing list. Additionally, she has been instrumental in supporting the rise of future leaders at Kelly as a founding member of the company’s internal business resource group, Leadership in Action (LIA). The group is dedicated to helping prepare and develop current and future leaders in the global marketplace.
Deb holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. She currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for HAVEN, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides programs to promote violence-free homes and communities and helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
