Through nearly two years of unemployment, Terri Ford had looked to find work through many different staffing companies. She had seen many postings online and been screened by other agencies, but she never felt like the companies understood her - until she met with a specialized legal recruiter from Kelly Services.
Terri's first assignment through Kelly Services was at a small law firm. The firm needed someone right away, and at the last moment the person they were expecting could not make it, so Terri was sent instead. At first, the firm was just happy to have someone filling in, but after the first day the managing partner invited Terri back to fill in while their regular assistant was on vacation, and gave her an exceptional reference.
Since her first assignment, Terri has been placed in the Student Legal Services department at a Big Ten university as a legal administrative assistant. This is a long-term assignment with no definite end date.
When Terri was placed, the university had just installed a major software program to help attorneys manage their caseloads more efficiently. Terri's job was to carefully transfer hundreds of files into the new system. Since then, she has been given more regular tasks, along with other projects.
Terri enjoys working at the university with a very close team and hopes to be hired full-time. When asked what she would say when recommending Kelly, Terri said, "When I first started looking into working with a staffing agency, the jobs they were offering me were filing clerk positions which didn't match my level of experience. I was eventually matched with a Kelly Services recruiter who understood and valued my skills, and was able to place me in a job I enjoy."
