prominent industries here include bioscience, environmental technology,
information technology (IT), manufacturing, and the military. Biomedical,
environmental, computer hardware, mechanical, and industrial engineers will
continue to be called for in this metropolitan area.
Dallas is a hub of national and international air
transportation, but also boasts a considerable government presence. Other
important industries here include manufacturing and IT, as well as mining,
logging, and construction. Aerospace,

engineers are likely to be in continued demand here.

On the East Coast, it’s
predicted that Washington DC will add thousands of engineering jobs, mainly in
computer systems design, technical consulting, and architecture. And last but
certainly not least, Massachusetts will remain a stronghold for information
technology, life sciences, maritime commerce, and renewable energy. Experts
predict many new engineering jobs will be added in the Boston area over the
next decade, predominantly for computer hardware engineers, electronics
engineers, biomedical engineers, and mechanical engineers.
