Software Developer Case Study
Software Developer Achieves Significant Cost Savings with Managed Service Provider (MSP) Program
The Challenge
One of the leading providers of integrated software development solutions has helped software teams in companies worldwide overcome development obstacles, resulting in higher-impact software and a greater return on software development investments. This company was looking to gain a larger return on investment by reducing the large number of staffing suppliers supporting them—over 90—that were charging disparate rates and providing inconsistent management, from contract compliance to reporting and invoicing.
The Solution
The customer’s management team researched multiple vendor management programs and selected Kelly IT Resources’ Managed Service Provider program as the solution of choice based on the company’s experience and customer references. Kelly IT Resources® (KITR) conducted a full assessment of the company’s current requisition system, staffing process, vendor compliance process, and management of suppliers, making recommendations and developing a centralized staffing process. KITR then implemented a vendor management program in 21 sites in the U.S. and Canada. To ensure that the end users would not be disrupted during the implementation phase, KITR established vendor contracts with the top suppliers based on past performance.
The Result
The company gained more effective and consistent tracking with the newly implemented centralized staffing program, and a consistent pricing model was established with all secondary suppliers. Cost savings were significant due to the reduction of more than 100 single paper invoices to one consolidated electronic invoice, and the reduction of more than 90 suppliers to 13 secondary suppliers for the program.
The customer began receiving an electronic usage report that outlined all contract staffing by department, allowing managers to forecast and budget more effectively. The management program enabled the customer to capture key quality performance measures for both contract employees and suppliers, resulting in a more effective business process.
